With a pack brimming with trinkets, parts, and lord knows what else a small robed figure makes it's way through the temporary Jedi home towards the landlords laboratory storage area. With all that is going on the little one has been overlooked for weeks! The Jedi Master enters the lab making his way through to his secret stash of goodies as he does not sense anothers presence.
Brainiac 5 is actually kind of hidden away, his recharge chair reconfigured for repairs. The bulk of it keeps him from being seen, but the golden forms of those floating droids certainly seem busy behind the white sphere kind of thing. The Coluan is aware however, and that means he notices when a little Jedi enters. Behind Pliktu appears a very real seeming hologram of the slender robot. “Master Pliktu?” Asked. Even the voice comes from it! Only a Jedi could tell that there's no life force in the thing. It certainly looks completely solid. “What are you doing?” Already knowing that answer.
Those little golden floating droids seem busy with a project. Is interesting? Deviating from his course the Jedi shuffles his way towards the action. In mid-step Pliktu comes to a stop with his pack looking around for Brainiac 5. “Eyeta?” Unsure of where Brainy is at the moment. “Ikee, walk. Take opakwa for kurruzza. Master is present?” The pack is shrugged off then left floating where the Jawa stands. “Ookwass?” Where? Folding his hands together in front of himself the Jawa makes his way towards the floating droids. “Oh! Master is shanay.” Even makes sleepy sounds for Brainy's benefit.
Oh, it's very interesting, but you don't get to see it, Jawa! “Leave that alone.” Brainy says firmly, looking frustrated when he realizes the jawa can't sense him. “Master Pliktu.. I am the master. This hologram is being used because I am busy elsewhere. What are you doing?” Can't even look in the bag but he can sure eye it.
“Leave 'lone?” Pliktu does not understand. He hasn't touched a thing just left his pack floating in the middle of a walkway. “I am find. You in chair?” He comes scooting around the area to see if Brainy is in the recharge chair. Mostly knowing the Coluan rests there from time to time that he's seen. “Help? I can fix Master.”
“Master Pliktu!” Is the protest, but there's nothing that will stop the little Jedi from getting around to seeing the Coluan's true condition. Brainiac 5 isn't that human figure in the hologram, but instead eight feet tall and only humanoid in appearance. He's also in a state of disarray. The entire left shoulder, and that side of chest, is nearly missing. The golden droids working hard at internal systems. It's the hologram that says, “No. I don't want your help, Master Pliktu. There are reasons. Now leave me alone. I have a great deal to do.” Even stamps his foot. If he has to he will put up a force field to keep the jawa at a distance from his real body.
Step… step… step…
Another comes walking from a hallway that led to the living quarters, a tall Miralukan woman garbed only in a light blanket that is wrapped around her and tied into something of a 'dress' to keep some amount of decency. It was rude to simply take garbs, even temporarily, without finding someone to ask.
As Jayale came out into the main area, however, the ragged strip of cloth around where her eyes would be if she had them, hearing the Coluan speak in some dismay confused her. She could see his main 'body' through the force, but it didn't seem active. And given she can't quite see certain things with her force sight, such as light and holograms, she can't actually tell that there is an illusion of Brainiac 5 present and chiding the jawa.
Thus, all she can see is the Jawa. Attempting to fiddle with Brainiac 5. “A Jawa, here?” Yes, she recognized the little thieving trader race, having dealt with them on many occasions when obtaining materials. However, she didn't recognize he was a Jedi - just that he wasn't… a normal Jawa.
Slowly, ever so slowly, the Jawa peers up at the HUGE droid where a little Coluan should be and gasps in shock. A curse is muttered in awe as he gravitates towards Brainy. “Injured. Pliktu can help. Kurruzza! Utini?!” Even floats his hovering pack towards himself and begins digging through it to find something. “Is junk…useful junk…no leave Master Ko lopo.” Broken droids upset Jawas! “Okka!” He calls out floating the bag higher into the air then he himself starts to lift into the air waving a newly acquired scanner at Brainy. “Ohh bombya….nekkel juuva obegadada….you is fight Battle Cruiser? Much oww…” Sensing the presence of another Plik turns in midair scanning the new figure on accident. “Hello…” a little bit of a wave. “New? Ikee Pliktu.” Points behind him towards the Coluan. “Is Master Brainy. Is special droid. Broken droid. Pliktu help kurruzza.”
Gravitates right into that force field! No, Brainy is not letting anyone close, much less Jawa. Nothing otherwise is done to the Jawa. If Pliktu wants to scan Brainy that's fine, but there will be no hands on. Lots of damage, but also some of the most advanced technology imaginable is there. It's a big reason why he doesn't want others poking at him. “It was something big, yes. I was the distraction….” That's when the other Jedi appears. The hologram sighs but nods to her. Of course this can't be seen. “Hello, Master Jayale. Might you try your luck at convincing him I neither want, nor require his services?” Plaintive that.
While Jedi are usually tactful, and some are especially good at negotiating, Jayale is not one of them. In fact, she used to be a thief as a child, much like a little Miralukan Jawa - obsessed with technology and no one wanted her around. That is partially why Jayale floats a sheet of thin metal that was laying around between Pliktu and Brainiac 5 briefly, mostly to get the Jawa's attention away from the Coluan.
“Do you understand, Jawa, what is being asked of you?” Jayale didn't know his name, but wasn't about to simply attacking him or try to force push him away from Brainiac. Words first, always. Besides, sometimes mechanical droids 'overload' briefly, randomly shocking nearby things. She wasn't above crossing a wire momentarily inside one of the repair droids to shoot a bit of a jolt against Pliktu's rear to catch his attention, should the sheet of metal distraction and words not distract the strange floating Jawa.
“Is friend…help. Some way Pliktu be of use.” Even if it is to attending small projects in the lab that he can repair or piece together for the indisposed man. The piece of metal floating between himself and Brainy gets a tip of the robed head but nothing more. What an odd thing to do? Looking to Brainy he floats down to the ground and stalks over towards the Miralukan. “That…” a big word that he can not quite say yet. His basic is good enough to be passable but not where it needs to be to whip out what he wants to say. “Pliktu not stupid. Tando, Brainy. You is Ysas but no equal if think I not smart. Sabioto.” Attempts to yank her sheet of metal from the air with a force grab of his own.
There's dismay from Brainiac 5. “Master Jayale! Would you leave my things alone?!” That sparking droid starts to fight the Jedi. “What is wrong with you two?” Metal is floating around, and the Coluan is so very glad he has that force field up. It really isn't visible until something contacts it. Then it glows briefly green with golden hexagons. A bee hive pattern. “Do NOT do this in my home!” No, he doesn't at all think Pliktu is stupid. He just doesn't want Brainiac technology getting out where it can hurt people. It's a huge risk.
Ack, did she actually DO that? “Ah, I apologize, Brainiac 5. It… it wasn't intentional, I was considering it only. It seems my time away – Wha?” Did that Jawa just… force grab the sheet of metal. Miralukans can't really STARE, but Jayale gives a good impression of being rather incredulous. She'd never, in her life, heard of any force-sensitive Jawa, let alone one that was capable of doing THAT.
“Please leave Brainiac 5 be, Jawa.” a pause, “Brainiac 5, did you know… this Jawa can use The Force?” Because she didn't!
“I not call you Miraluken. You not call me Jawa.” As if using the race as a name is a slur. The zot to his backside goes ignored as he sends the metal off to comfortably rest in the distance and glares up at the Jedi standing before him. “Pliktu,” reiterating his name again for her. “As if levitating above ground with pack is not clue enough as to my skill.” The little one pokes at her leg unhappily. “Respect other. You no do this.” Muttering in his native language that can not be translated he turns away from her heading back towards the injured Coluan. “Is sorry. Sabioto Eyeta. Pliktu puts away parts offers to help Master in an-way.”
Did he know that the Jawa could use the force? “Of course.” A blink at the woman. “This is Master Pliktu, one of the Jedi staying here.” Oh wait, wasn't he suppose to be upset? So easily distracted at the moment! Brainy's image stands not far away and mostly looks unhappy. “I mean no disrespect, Master Pliktu. There are reasons I can't let you help with repairs, and for that I am very sorry. I have always appreciated your efforts here.” Poking is eyed and the Coluan looks uncomfortable. “Please don't start anything here?”
Jayale suddenly felt out of the loop. 'One of the'? There was more than Kenobi? There was a JAWA Jedi? Ah, this was too much to handle. Poor Jayale looked like she got in a fight with a wookie, and not to mention she still didn't actually have any clothing to hide the majority of the things that hadn't healed or fully started to heal yet past being sealed off from being lethal.
“I apologize again, Brainiac 5… and Master Pliktu.” This must all be some strange dream and she's actually still back on that acursed planet. She HAD had dreams before while in the Morichro state, though they were more nightmares. This wasn't near anything like them. As such, Jayale walked over towards the side to find something to sit upon and sit there, legs crossed politely while she attempted to meditate a bit to herself.
Pliktu bows slightly towards the eight foot tall Coluan. “If help I be can do. I build oopeezo's. Make useful device. Bother not giant droid man.” The pack of parts floats slowly towards the Jawa who shoulders it again while floating up the scanner to land in the bag disturbing some of the junk he found out in the Clockworks. “Is Jedi,” meaning Jayale. “Not behave well. Time to be taken for healing.” Shuffling off towards his storage room where he floats up to a keypad near the door punching in a sequence then floats into the opened room to store his parts.
There are chairs here, so finding a place to sit is easy. In fact there's a very nice social seating area to one side. The hologram Brainiac 5 moves around to accompany her, even though she can't really see him because it's an illusion. “Thank you, Master Pliktu. I really appreciate your offer.” But so not happening. It's not personal, nor is it that he's a jawa. Brainy turned down Anakin too. Or rather Kenobi's offer of getting the other. For Jayale, he says, “There are many Jedi currently staying here, Master Jayale. Many and varied. Master Kenobi was very serious about taking anyone no matter their age. The situation here is quite unique. Master Pliktu is even going to be one of the teachers at the Praxeum.” Does idly watch the jawa put things away.
“I would go into a healing trance, Pliktu, but… I fear I may have been stuck in one for years, judging by how degraded my material is.” Jayale reaches up to touch the fabric wrapped around her as if trying to explain it. Then she recalled something - her lightsaber. She needed to calm down, relax and fully get back into tune with the force. It was going to be hard, though, while trying to speed the healing of her wounds as well as maintain some semblance of self awareness. Raising one hand, the case that held Jayale's saber, which had been sat down off to the side earlier by one of Brainy's droids, floated towards the Master.
It opened and she pulled the double-bladed weapon out. The case returned to where it was and she began to idly go through the motions of disassembling it and reassembling it, trying to focus.
“I would like to retire somewhere private, Brainiac 5. May I use the same room I bathed in? Or should I leave to find more suitable lodging?” Not that she had money… or clothes… or any idea where she was.
In the storage room the Jawa putters about muttering to himself as he floats the parts in his bag into the collection of parts, junk and other such things that he finds interesting. After his pack is empty a small snow globe floats up from the debris to his hand where he grasps it then slumps down onto his collection staring at it a moment. “Not useful. Make droid be useful.” Floating the orb ahead of himself it turns upside down then right side up so that he can watch the little fake snowflakes fall onto the tiny house inside. With a sigh the orb is floated back to it's resting place then the Jedi comes out of the room peering between the holo and the seated Jedi.
Brainy watches the case float, but since it's hers he says nothing of it. “The room is yours, Master Jayale. Use it as long as you need. Unfortunately clothing I don't have, but I'll see what I can do. Perhaps one of the others can loan you something in the meantime. Rest well.” Not about to stop her and he sighs as he pads over to where the jawa is. Well, the hologram moves. The real Brainiac 5 remains in that protective force field. Leans over, hands on knees, to watch that globe too. So Pliktu looks up and Brainy is RIGHT THERE. “That was really pretty. Where did you get it?”
“Very well, thank you. Please let Kenobi or any others who wish to see me know I am happy to speak with them.” And with that, the Jedi who was clothed only in that blanket stands and makes her way towards the living quarters, lightsaber floating in front of her as she telekinetically took it apart and put it back together. It was a habit, a tic of hers that she had grown into and something she did when bothered.
The Jawa eeps when Brainy is close to him in that holo form. Thankfully the snowglobe is undamaged as he had no contact with the item when Brainy surprised him. Had he dropped it there would have been a very sad Jawa. “Find in alley. Very pretty. Pliktu like snow. Never seen snow. Is much better than sand.” He floats the item back towards himself to shake up again so they can watch it. “Pliktu want go snow. See houses with lights. Big trees!”
Kneeling down near you, Brainy puts hands on knees and smiles at that snow globe. “You've never seen snow? You should ask Master Kenobi to take you to see it. There are many worlds with snow. It's worth seeing.” Doesn't touch anything, but that's because this hologram can't. “The lights are for Christmas. It's an old holiday from a planet called Earth. A time to gather and give your lived ones gifts.” At least that's what he understood it to be. “They put trees inside their homes and decorate them with keepsakes of friends and family. It's a pleasant holiday.”
Shakes his head, no. “Is special? Sounds fun. My family very big. No have holiday though share what find. Mother help Pliktu get-way during great swap. Pliktu travel to learn be Jedi. Take long time.” The orb floats back to it's place amongst the stuff then Pliktu moves over to pull out part of a droid he is making to show the hologram. “Is Jawa but Jawa who is more. Want help all. No able on Tatooine.”
“It is to many humans on Earth, yes.” Special. The holiday had warped into something entirely different during Brainiac 5's era. “I'm very sorry for that, Master Pliktu.” And serious that. It's sad you feel the loss. “But to be a Jedi is to leave your family behind, yes? To help people. You don't need to be on Tatooine for that. You can do that anywhere.. like you help me.” There's that warm smile.
“Yes!” Another word that the Coluan will not understand is spoken. “Is Jedi way. Must leave family join Esas. Pliktu family try trade him. No want. Mother no want. Pliktu glad for escape. Miss mother but mother family shaman. She fine. Safe. Pliktu help many!” Arms go as wide as he can make them though that means the droid crashes to the pile of parts again. Whoops! “No help here?” Wondering why there is nothing he can do to help Brainy. “Small things. I bring many ….” He waves towards his collection of parts. “Good. Make work for family. Can make many things.”
There is nothing Brainy needs, but he knows someone who really could use the little Jawa's aid. “Why not make droids for the Praxeum? They are going to need many, many droids, Master Pliktu.” See, there is somewhere that could use a wealth of cleaning robots and the like. “Probably more than the parts you have. It would keep you busy for weeks.. and they could use some help in the building itself I've no doubt. There will be much to help with.”
“No see Pliktu. Very busy.” The Jedi have been in and out and caught up in their own affairs to notice the little guy wandering the warehouse on his own or out in the city scavenging because it is what he knows. “Droids ok. Make many droids; I like. Is easy no trouble.” He digs through his collection of junk parts to show Brainy an itty bitty robot head. “Woman think stupid creature. Haves troubles cause of race. Jawa is not taken serious. Is big droid same problem? Find fix?”
“Things have been very strange lately. I'm very sorry, Master Pliktu.” Brainy apologizes earnestly. “Many of us are over looked in it all.” He often is, but that's okay. The Jedi do give him what time they can. He's never forgotten. The Coluan smiles at the parts, nodding as they are shown to him. If only he could 'play' with the little Jedi and help make something. Admit that you are having trouble and the little robot looks down. “No.” He hasn't found a fix. “Either I am too small to be treated with respect or I am frightening.” Looks back to where his real body lays. “I wish I knew what to tell you.”
“Is ok. We are f…ren.” Pliktu hopes Brainy understand that he meant to say friend. He has been using the Jawa term for it for awhile now in regard to the Coluan. He sets his parts down then walks past the hologram heading towards the eight foot tall damaged robot. “Not scary though I small you not small.” Even though there is a force field in place the Jedi Master places his little hands against it feeling the field and symbolizing that he is not afraid. “Like strange robot. Is good person. Pliktu will help fren e'en when gone wif others.”
